Parts of Lustryx — including certain product categories and the ability to buy or sell on the platform at all — are restricted to adults. We ask everyone to confirm they're 18 or over before we unlock these areas, both to comply with our legal obligations around age-restricted content and to protect younger people from accessing it.
Every buyer and seller must provide their date of birth and confirm, via a checkbox, that they're 18 or over. If you register using Facebook, and grant the relevant permission, Facebook can share an age-range signal (or, if Facebook App Review has approved it, a full birthday) that we use in place of manual self-declaration where it confirms you're 18+. Google does not share date-of-birth information, so Google sign-in always requires the same manual self-declaration as registering with email.
Registration is blocked outright if the date of birth you provide shows you're under 18, regardless of the confirmation checkbox.
If your age was confirmed by self-declaration rather than a provider that verifies it directly (i.e. you didn't register via Facebook with age-range/birthday data), you'll also be asked to complete a one-off £1.00 card-verification charge before you can buy or your listings can go live. This uses Stripe's secure card-entry form — Lustryx never sees your card details — and serves as an additional signal that a real, working payment card is behind the account, since UK card issuance itself generally requires the cardholder to be 18 or over. The full amount is automatically credited towards that account's first order, so it isn't an additional cost to using Lustryx, just a one-off verification step.
We store your date of birth, the method by which your age was confirmed (self-declaration, or a supported provider's age signal), the date this happened, and — where applicable — a record of your card- verification attempt (a Stripe payment reference, amount, and status; never your card number). Providing a false date of birth, or otherwise attempting to circumvent age verification, is a breach of our Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy, and will result in immediate account suspension or termination if discovered. Where we have reason to believe an account belongs to someone under 18, we'll suspend it pending review.
Anyone browsing Lustryx without an account can see the top-level names of product categories, but not the age-restricted listings underneath them — those only become visible once you've registered and completed the checks above.
